Real Madrid have made Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero their number one target for the January transfer window, according to the Guardian.

However the Argentinean striker has declared that he is happy to stay in the North West of England for the foreseeable future as he sees the long term ambition of City to rival anyone.

Real are struggling to lure the former Atletico Madrid forward back to the Spanish capital but they also have Liverpool’s Luis Suarez among their candidates to sign in January.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti has made strikers his main aim for the winter with Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Calejon leaving the club in the summer making Karim Benzema their only first team forward, however Aguero has made it clear he wants to stay at City.

“I’m very happy at City, very happy since the day I came,” he said.

“I knew that the project was good and in my head there is nothing else but Manchester City, so how long I’m going to be at City is just never a question.”
