Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has hinted that the European champions could make a move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard this summer, according to reports from the Mirror.

Although La Liga currently has the two best players in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Zidane has revealed that he favours Hazard more than the aforementioned duo.

“Obviously, there is Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, both of whom are spectacular, but I like Eden Hazard a lot too,” the World Cup winner said.

"I like everything he does on the field. I like his behaviour, his decisiveness and love to see his progress every year.

"There is still scope for further progress and if Chelsea are to win the Premier League this season, Eden will have had a lot to do with it."

The 24-year-old only penned a new five-year contract with the Blues back in February, but Zidane’s comments are set to unsettle the Belgian who is expected to win the PFA Player of the Year accolade this weekend.

Real have a record of pinching away the Premier League’s best players after a brilliant campaign, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Gareth Bale all making the switch.

However, the Spanish giants will have some competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, with star midfielder Franck Ribery admitting that Hazard is a better option than the heavily-linked Kevin de Bruyne.

Ribery said: “He attacks all of the time. He loves to run at his opponent. But he plays for Chelsea - this could be very expensive for Chelsea.

"De Bruyne is great, when he fits the counter-attack. At Bayern, however, you only have three or four metres in front of you, not a lot of room. But he is a good player and he is still young, so he can still learn."

Hazard has been integral to Chelsea’s rise to the top of the Premier League, making 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals.
