Real Madrid wonderkid Raphael Varane is demanding a new contract or else he could be forced to leave with Chelsea currently monitoring his situation, Daily Mail reports.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be eyeing the French centre-back who he has already worked with during his time with the Spanish giants.
He will be looking to add another defender to his ranks after the £50million departure of David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain just before the start of the World Cup.
Varane is currently receiving £25,000-a-week wages and could be looking to triple that amount in order to match those of his Madrid team mates.
The 21-year-old’s representatives will meet up with the club board in the near future in order to secure a new deal for the player who is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe.
Should the La Liga giants fail to meet his demands, the defender could very well be on his way to reunite with Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
An official bid will not be happening soon but should the Blues make a move, they should be expecting a minimum bid of around £25million.
