New QPR boss Harry Redknapp is looking to raid his former club Tottenham Hotspur for Michael Dawson in January, according to Sky Sports.

Redknapp will not have the same budget as former boss Mark Hughes has, but the former Spurs manager is hoping to bring in plenty of new players in the January transfer window in an attempt to keep Rangers up.

QPR bid for Dawson in the summer but contract negotiations were unsuccessful, however Redknapp’s good relationship with the defender could come in handy.

Dawson was made club captain at White Hart Lane this year but has fallen down the pecking order in North London and only really gets a look in during Capital One Cup or Europa League games.

Dawson was a key player for Redknapp before he was sacked at Spurs, captaining the side on regular occasions when Ledley King was injured and is likely to be open to a move across London.
