LA Galaxy star Robbie Keane has ruled out the possibility of him returning to the Premier League on loan in January.

The former Liverpool and Spurs striker has been linked with a two month loan move to relegation rivals Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers but the Irish forward has dismissed any chance of that.

Keane enjoyed a successful season for Galaxy but after a busy summer with the European Championships and a grueling season ahead, the 32-year-old is happy for the rest.

Team mate David Beckham left America last month and fellow Galaxy star Landon Donovan has also been linked with a short term loan move to the Premier League.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp had refused to rule out a move for the striker, who is back in the UK with his family, claiming that he would improve any side in the league.

Keane’s former boss Redknapp is set to be disappointed once again with the striker’s decision.

“It’s been a long season, with the Euros and what have you. I’ve a few little niggles that need to be sorted out so I don’t think at this moment in time it would be right for me to go anywhere,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“I had another year left and they offered me a new contract at the end of last season. I’ve just signed a new two-year contract.”
