Robin van Persie was given a lukewarm reception by the Arsenal fans in a pre-season friendly in Germany, with a section of the Gunners support booing the striker according to The Sun.

The Netherlands international has confessed that he will not be extending his expiring contract in north London, and a move to another club is being touted this summer.

Van Persie started as a substitute in the Emirates Stadium side's 4-0 win over FC Koln, coming on for 20 minutes towards the end to a hostile reaction from the Premier League team's faithful.

Arsene Wenger has confessed that the attacker's future is no closer to being resolved.

“There’s no news on Van Persie. Our fans want him to stay so you can understand they are excited," the French coach stated.

“Anything I could say about Van Persie would be a lie because he’s our player and that’s it.

“Robin scored 30 goals last season and you want to keep your best player.

“He was player of the year in England. We want to keep him. I cannot tell you more at the moment because I don’t know more.”

Goals from Thomas Vermaelen, Gervinho and a Lukas Podolski double secured a comfortable victory for the visitors.
