Currently a free agent, Ashley Cole could remain in Europe after Roma are believed to be preparing a contract offer to lure the former Chelsea ace to the Serie A, Express reports.
The English defender officially left Stamford Bridge after serving the club for eight years, ranking him amongst the world’s best left back.
Having featured 229 times for the Blues, a recent injury saw him lose his first team place to Cesar Azpilicueta as he could now make a move to Roma, who has been struggling defensively the previous season.
Cole’s potential switch to Rome means that the side will be boosted by a very experienced defender who can also provide an extra boost in the squad’s attacking plays as well.
He made the switch from Arsenal back in 2006 for £6.5 million and has been a regular feature for the England national team, representing them on 107 occasions, but missed out on a place in the 2014 World Cup.
