Russian side Rubin Kazan are set to make a big money bid for Newcastle forward Papiss Cisse in the next few days, according to The Sun.

The Russian transfer window is still open for another three weeks so Rubin can make their move for Cisse in their own time but the bid is set to go in tomorrow for the striker who is currently on the sidelines with a leg injury.

Newcastle fans were hugely disappointed with the club after they sold main man Yohan Cabaye in the final week of the January transfer window and then failed to replace him.

If the Toon accept a bid for Cisse it will only enhance the current sour mood at St James’ Park that was evident after they lost 3-0 at home to bitter rivals Sunderland yesterday.

Cisse has failed to find any sort of form this season leaving him behind both Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi in the pecking order under Alan Pardew.

Newcastle did add Luuk De Jong to their squad on deadline day and so that does leave United with options should they accept the bid from Rubin.
