Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has deemed seven players surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, and will be looking to sell them this summer, Daily Mail reports.
Javier Hernandez, Marouane Fellaini, Rafael, Nani, Anderson, Wilfried Zaha, and youngster Will Keane have been told by their manager they are not part of the club’s future plans.
Van Gaal held face-to-face talks with each player at Carrington and will be listening to offers for their services.
Shinji Kagawa, however, looks to have convinced his manager during pre-season and will have a role to play at Old Trafford, albeit he will be behind Juan Mata and Ander Herrera in the pecking order.
Several players already have offer from other clubs, with striker Javier Hernandez high on demand with Southampton, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham all vying for his signature.
Last season’s transfer flop Fellaini is also being courted by Napoli, but the Serie A side are holding out for a lower fee.
Starlet Wilfried Zaha is meanwhile attracting attention from the league’s smaller sides, with West Ham and Crystal Palace keen to sign the player.
Rafael was a surprise to see on Van Gaal’s axe list, possibly indicating the Red Devils are in the market for a new right-back.
