Shaqueel van Persie, son of Robin van Persie, is currently training with both Manchester clubs but will need to decide who he’ll play for in the near future, Mirror reports.
Although his father plays for Manchester United, the seven-year-old is being persuaded by Man City to join their youth academy.
“He shares my passion of being involved with loads of sports. His timing is incredible,” the Man United striker said.
“He’s very competitive. He plays for his local team with his friends and he got scouted.
“Now he’s playing for both Manchester United and for City up until an age where, maybe in a year or so, he has to make a decision about where he wants to play.
“He’s doing really well at school as well, so it is a perfect combination. Better than me.
“I always used to tell him that Daddy was really good at school as well. When he’s about 16 or 17 I will tell him the real story but not for now.”
Back in the summer of 2012, van Persie was embroiled in a transfer tussle between the Red Devils and the Sky Blues, with the Dutchman opting for Old Trafford in a £24million move from Arsenal.
However with Manchester City on the verge of winning the Premier League title while United are looking to rebuild, Shaqueel could very well decide to play at the Etihad.
