The trio have all been impressive for the Saints this term, and have all earned recognition from Three Lions chief Roy Hodgson over the course of the last few months.
Despite them not playing for one of the country’s ‘big boys’, the threesome are all being tipped to make the trip Brazil alongside established stars such as Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney as the nation gears up for the competition.
Ward-Prowse – who himself has been impressive this season – believes that his team-mates have proven their worth and that they have a good chance of making the grade ahead of the showpiece tournament:
“They could definitely all make the squad. They’ve proved that in the internationals they’ve played.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.
“It’s good to see them doing well, they’ve contributed to our success and as long as they keep doing that till Roy names his team, I think they’ve got a good chance.
“Hopefully they’ve done enough, will continue to do well in the few games we’ve got left, and be off to the World Cup.”
As well as Lallana, Rodriguez and Lambert, Luke Shaw is also seen as an option, with the 18-year-old left-back having emerged as one of the Premier League’s top players in his position.
