Liverpool could be on the verge of completing a move for their third Southampton target Dejan Lovren if they can meet the £25million demand, Daily Star reports.
Brendan Rodgers has already seen a £20 million offer rejected earlier despite the fact that the player has openly revealed his interest in making the switch to Anfield.
Lovren said: “Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven’t informed me.
“That wasn’t right. I found out about the bid from other people which disappointed me and I realised I’ve got no business staying at Southampton.
“Liverpool sent a £20m offer and they paid £9m for me, so they would’ve earned more than twice the amount.”
Should the Reds reach an agreement to spend the proposed fee, the 25-year-old defender could be on his way to join former team mates Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.
The Saints are currently trying all they can to keep their star players, but in addition to the two mentioned above, they have also lost Luke Shaw to Manchester United and is looking likely to part ways with Morgan Schneiderlin as well.
