Southampton is set to lose Gaston Ramirez on loan to Sevilla for the entire season after Ronald Koeman revealed the Uruguayan attacker doesn’t fit in with his plans, Daily Mail reports.
The 23-year-old signed for the Saints for £12million back in 2012 and although he was a target for many clubs during the start of the summer, interest in him has all but died down.
However, Sevilla look to have reignited their earlier interest in the attacking midfielder after previous attempts to sign him failed.
With news that he wouldn’t feature in Koeman’s plans for the new season, the La Liga club are now considering an initial loan with a clause to make the move permanent in the future.
During the huge St Mary’s exodus which saw Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Luke Shaw, and Calum Chambers all depart to other Premier League sides, Ramirez was closing in on a switch to join Serie A side Torino as well.
