Spanish giants Barcelona, who look likely to lose both Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto in the summer, are targeting the services of Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul, Mirror reports.

Already in search for another first team goalkeeper as Valdes is prepared to leave, the Spanish side are desperately in need of signing a reliable player to stand between the sticks.

In addition to the departure of Barcelona’s number one, Pinto, currently the back up keeper, is also set to follow his teammate out of the club with Gerardo Martino now needing to secure the signature of two new goalkeepers.

Krul has earned raved reviews with Newcastle United, where he has been the no.1 since 2010.

However, Barca will face stiff competition from Juventus, who have been targeting the Dutch goalie in recent weeks as the battle for his signature is amplified.

The Catalan club are however still in talks over their current transfer ban, but they believe that once their appeal goes through, it will eventually be put on hold making space for a potential transfer.
