Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to stay with the south coast club this summer after talks with the board, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Pochettino is Tottenham’s number one target to replace Tim Sherwood at White Hart Lane but it seems they will now have to look elsewhere – with Frank de Boer and Carlo Ancelotti on their radar.

Southampton have decided not to sell their main stars such as Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana despite tempting offers from big name clubs.

Both Saints men are with the England squad for the World Cup and their futures are set to be decided after the June tournament – however Pochettino will only stay if his key players do to.

Shaw is expected to be the subject of a £30-odd million bid from Manchester United while Liverpool are after Dejan Lovren and Lallana to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

Tottenham were keen to fork out almost £9million in compensation to take Pochettino to White Hart Lane but the Southampton board are now desperate to keep their core together.

You haven’t managed to get much right in this. First ancelotti was main target if real didn’t win the champs league( which they did ). Second shaw is subject to a 27m bid not 30 plus. Southamton have said that lallana can go if Liverpool pay bournmouths 20 %sell on fee.
Poch’s comp fee is not 9m as he only has 1 yr left. Apparantly it is between 2 and 4 m.

Spurs can’t even attract Southampton’s manager. How low can you go, really.
