Manchester United lost for the third consecutive game as they were beaten 3-1 by on-the-up Watford at Vicarage Road.

Etienne Capoue - who looks a man reborn this season - opened the scoring when he added his fourth of the campaign 10 minutes before half time. Youngster Marcus Rashford then levelled much to the delight of the visiting fans.

While United continued the threaten they were unable to complete the turnaround however, before the Hornet's summer signing Juan Zuniga punished some poor United defending with a smart finish only seconds after coming on as a substitute.

Troy Deeney completed the rout with a penalty in the dying moments.

The win means back-to-back wins for Walter Mazzeratti's Watford having beaten West Ham 4-2 last week in a thrilling game at the London Stadium. For United however, the defeat made it their third in a row having lost to rivals Manchester City last week and slumping to a 1-0 loss to Dutch outfit Feyenoord in the clubs opening Europa League fixture.

Jose Mourinho will be wondering where his £100 million plus went to following the loss, with none of his marquee signing's of the summer delivering once again.

At FFC we've put together three images that sum up the devastating loss for United ...

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford again put in an impressive performance, scoring the Red Devils' equaliser early into the second half with a smart finish from inside the Watford box.

Unfortunately, the 18-year-old was about the only performer for Jose Mourinho's side all afternoon and was left frustrated with his lack of support in the final third.

3 defeats in 8 days for United and Mourinho now. Having started the season brightly the Portuguese manager and his million dollar men have taken a turn for the worse, leaving fans wishing they never let go of FA Cup Winner Louis Van Gaal. Judging on their recent form, it looks like United will once again be struggling to make the top four, despite their heavy investments during the summer.
