Everton and Tottenham are set to battle it out to sign Barcelona youngster Gerard Deulofeu on loan next season, according to the Independent.

Deulofeu is still seen as one for the future at the Nou Camp but the arrival of Neymar has pushed him down the pecking order once again.

The Spain under-20 international is currently in Turkey competing in the World Cup and netted twice in Spain’s opening game of the tournament.

The forward-come-wide man scored 18 goals last season for Barcelona B as well as making his first team debut towards the end of the campaign.

Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on bringing the youngster to the Premier League but Tottenham and Everton are the only clubs to have approached the Catalan side about the possibility of a 12 month loan.

Fellow Barcelona striker David Villa is still hopeful of getting his own move to Tottenham this summer.
