Christian Benteke

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas is set to wait until the end of the transfer window before bidding for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, according to the The Sun.

Villas-Boas is desperate to add at least two more strikers to his squad after the disappointing form of Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor last season.

Spurs often leave their transfer business until the final few days of the window under Daniel Levy and are set to continue that trend in order to bring Benteke to White Hart Lane.

The Belgian powerhouse was hugely impressive in his first season at Villa and the Midlands club are confident of keeping him this summer despite interest from big clubs in England and Spain.

Spurs are risking being rejected by Villa; who want £30million for their man; and desperately searching and possibly overpaying for another striker as deadline day looms.

The North London club are also keen on bringing David Villa to the Premier League from Barcelona.

I am fed up to the teeth about hearing about Tottenham Hotspur! Who in earth do they think they are? When Aston Villa founded the Football League they were not even in it but we in nappies! And for years they were not in it. Probably one of their greatest d=feats was being the only Non-League team to win the FA Cup!

So why on Earth would Beneteke want to play for Spurs when they are an inferior club! Spurs are one of these clubs who like to brag about all their money which has got them nowhere! If Benteke were to leave Aston Villa he would play in a League that is better than the Premier League such as the German League or the Spanish League and join one of the world’s leading teams!

So get real you are not having Beneteke! You can tell My Levy who thinks he can buy success and that jumped up Manager who failed at Chelsea to run away and play marbles! Beneteke will remain an Aston Villa player. As for The Sun Newspaper it is hardly a leading Newspaper but more of a rag!

Long live Aston Villa the greatest Club in England! Not the World as will leave that to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich etc.

Being a supporter of club you have your reservations just like us whenever we read transfer gossip of bale to real madrid. I think you must accept the reality that benteke didn’t want to stay in hell villa as he previously stated that his club can not force him to stay as he has some other ambitions. Why he will join spurs? Its simple spurs can offer him european football which obviously villa can’t at the moment. Moreover spurs are a club which is on upward trend and has same ambitions as the player. With regard to AVB I think he has silenced all the critics with his performance at spurs. Aston villa the greatest club in england? Hahahaha what a joke…the best club in the world fighting relegation every season.

The Villa supporter who thinks we are an inferior club is stupid villa used to be good ten years ago and we haven’t been the richest club in English football for over fifty years if ever.
Beneteke would rather play for a club competing for the champions league than in the Championship

We humiliated you last season with four goals to nil and will beat you with even better margin this year…the only difference this year will be that the goals against you will be made by your very own striker..benteke. hahahaha what kind of humiliation that would be and only then you will realize which club is inferior to who

    To Malcolm D Watts:

First off, spurs are not an inferior club to Aston villa, very far from it. In fact I would go as far as to say that spurs and villa should be in completely different leagues and I am sure villa will be relegated to reflect my opinion.
Second, do you see any quotes here? Any at all? Even one? NO. This is a fictitious article written by a bored, journalist on a slow/no news day to try and bring up their online hit count so as to meet whatever amount of hits the sites advertisers requires to meet contractual obligations. Attacking spurs will not raise Aston villas bottom feeding reputation.
Third, Benteke had 1 good season. It’s not like he has come to the league and been consistent for 4+ years he had 1 good season and it wasn’t an excellent season either. His coming season and the season after will be his real test because he will be a known quantity, defenders will have his play style worked out and have some idea of how to stop him. If he is still the same striker then maybe he will be worth £20 million and maybe then he will be worthy of playing at a club like spurs but, going on current ability, won’t be good enough to play in Spain. His feet aren’t good enough. Maybe he will be good for playing in Germany but even if he improves I don’t think he will be good enough for a club like Bayern, he may be good enough for Germany’s version of spurs but nothing higher as his feet aren’t good enough.

I could go on but being an Aston villa fan I doubt you can count much past 4 so I will leave it there.
