Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a loan move for Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck to follow up on their £8million capture of Federico Fazio, Daily Mail reports.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino was present during Man United’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of MK Dons, supposedly taking a closer look at United’s Welbeck.
The Man United ace is looking for a move out of Old Trafford in search of regular football, and Pochettino is extremely interested in bringing the Englishman to London.
The Lilywhites recently completed the signing of Sevilla captain Federico Fazio for £8million, but is reportedly still looking to add an attacking player after failed bids for Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez.
In regards to watching United’s loss against MK Dons, Pochettino went on to comment on Spurs’ Europa League home encounter tonight with AEL Limassol, in which they lead 2-1.
“I was there, I watched the United game. It is a good example for us to be ready. We got a good result in Cyprus but we need to be focused,” he said.
Meanwhile long-serving defender Michael Dawson has made the switch to Hull City for a deal in the region of £3million.
