Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Vilas-Boas has contacted Celta Vigo over the availability of striker Iago Aspas, according to the Metro.

The Spanish striker scored a stunning 25 goals last season for the La Liga minnows and has notch nine times in all competitions this term leading to Spurs’ interest.

Aspas came through the ranks at Vigo and is a supporter of the club so it will take an ambitious offer to tempt the 25 year old away.

Reading and Chelsea both had offers turned down in the summer for the Spaniard but Champions League football may entice Aspas to White Hart Lane in the summer.

The goal machine has a modest £8.3million buy-out clause in his current contract at Vigo but Spurs are looking to bid in the region of £6million this summer.

Tottenham are desperate for a striking reinforcements at White Hart Lane, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor the only forwards in the North Londoner’s first team squad.
