Tottenham are set to make a £5million bid for Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles, Daily Mail reports.
After an impressive campaign in which he made 34 appearances (scoring two goals) for Forest last season, Lascelles is being targeted by several Premier League clubs.
The 20-year-old also gained recognition playing in England’s youth squads, with Queens Park Rangers also keen in bringing over the defender.
QPR however face tough competition with Spurs ready to topple their £4million offer with a £5million bid.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is still looking for his first summer signing after making the switch to manage the Lilywhites from Southampton.
Meanwhile, Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is set to announce the signing of former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand, and already has another offer Steven Caulker accepted by Cardiff City.
However the former Portsmouth manager is keen on bringing Lascelles to become the perfect understudy to the experienced Ferdinand.
