Tottenham Hotspur’s squad rebuilding has begun as the club could be preparing a double transfer bid for relegated Cardiff City duo David Marshall and Steven Caulker, Mirror reports.

The pair, goalkeeper Marshall and central defender Caulker have been two of the teams best performers despite seeing their side return back to the Championship.

The Bluebirds recent lost at the hands of Newcastle meant their relegation battle came to an end after they were guaranteed the drop as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer look to lose many of his key players.

Caulker, who only left Spurs last summer could be on his way back as he has a release clause in his contract making the move a possibility and Marshall could also be given a lifeline with Tim Sherwood’s side also interested in his services.

However, the London side will be facing stiff competition from Liverpool who are also monitoring both of Cardiff’s stars, with the pair of them already proving that they belong in the Premier League.
