Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be preparing a late £11million bid to sign Loic Remy despite Liverpool only having to pay £8.5million to see their offer accepted, Daily Star reports.
However, with his move to Anfield falling through, the 27-year-old striker was linked with a move to a club that can offer him European football.
Remy has a clause in his contract that if a side with Champions League football made an offer, he could depart for a lowered fee, something Tottenham doesn’t have after they only managed a sixth place finish.
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp revealed his intentions to keep the attacker who scored 14 goals in 26 appearances while on loan at Newcastle United the previous season.
Tottenham are still considering whether they want to pay the straight up £11million cash on the French front man, or use the likes of either Michael Dawson, Andros Townsend, or Tom Carroll to negotiate a swap deal.
