Manchester United have received a transfer blow in their chase for Angel di Maria, with Paris Saint-Germain agreeing on a deal with Real Madrid, talkSPORT reports.
Di Maria is set to leave the Bernebeu this summer despite playing an important role in Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph last season, earning the man-of-the-match award in the final.
However the emergence and impressive World Cup performances from Colombia star James Rodriguez has Real keen on his signature, and will sacrifice Di Maria in order to complete the deal.
The arrival of Rodriguez would put the former Benfica winger further down the pecking order, with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo already Los Blancos’ first choice wingers.
This will come as a big blow to Manchester United, who have been linked with the Argentine all summer.
But with the Red Devils not participating in the UEFA Champions League next season, Di Maria is opting for a switch to Ligue-1 champions PSG.
The French side have come to an agreement with Real Madrid and could confirm the capture of Di Maria sometime this week.
