Arsenal target William Carvalho has been put up for sale by Sporting Lisbon, Metro reports.
The Gunners have now been given the green light to make a move for Carvalho after his club decided to offload the Portuguese star for cash this summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on bringing in a defensive midfielder and with negotiations for German World Cup champion Sami Khedira coming to a standstill, the manager has returned his attention to the 22-year-old.
Wenger had an initial £24million offer rejected by Sporting earlier in the month, but will be boosted by the Spanish media’s claim that the midfielder is now available for grabs.
The Premeira Liga club are reportedly desperate to raise some funds in order to bring in some additions to the squad, with the board agreeing to offload Carvalho to do so.
Carvalho can be purchased by matching his £35million buy-out clause, but Sporting could accept a smaller fee if they are to receive the money up front.
Along with Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also linked with the Sporting man.
