Merseyside enemies Liverpool and Everton both enjoyed successful campaigns last year and will both be competing in Europe next season.

So, as expected, Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez will already be busy trying to get business done in order to ensure their sides are prepared and well-equipped to cope with the rigours European competition brings.

Rodgers will also have one eye on winning the title, while Martinez’s top-four hopes will be stronger than ever after falling at the final hurdle last season.
