Manchester City star Yaya Toure has snubbed a shock offer from city-rivals Manchester United, Daily Star reports.
The want-away midfielder is expected to be still holding grudges over his club’s lack of attention on his birthday, which has strained the relationship between Toure and the Premier League champions.
The 31-year-old wants to leave the Etihad this summer and Man United saw the chance to bring the Ivory Coast international to Old Trafford.
However Toure seems has snubbed the move, in the hopes that he will be joining Ligue-1 giants Paris Saint-Germain for the start of the coming season.
Newly appointed United manager Louis van Gaal was keen to bring a world class midfielder in his attempt to bring the Red Devils back into the top four.
But the former Barcelona ace wants to leave the English Premier League, with Paris his preferred destination.
After Toure’s agent’s outburst in regards to his birthday, Dimitri Seluk also claimed the club’s owners ignored their star player during their visit.
He also went on to criticize City’s lack of support after the tragic death of his brother last month.
Sky Blues manager Manuel Pellegrini is expected to hold talks in his attempt to persuade Toure to stay at the Etihad.
