Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs claims he would love to replace Louis van Gaal as the Old Trafford main man in a few years’ time.
Giggs has signed up to assist van Gaal when he takes charge of United later this month but has got a taste for management after his caretaker spell in charge at the end of last season.
The United legend would ideally love to become the Old Trafford boss once again but he knows he will have to wait a few years to learn his trade before jumping into van Gaals grave.
“I think I’ve got three years of learning how to become a manager and that’s what I intend to do,” Giggs told the club’s official site.
“Eventually, I want to become a manager and obviously, it goes without saying, that if the United job was there, I’d love that.”
“We flew over and met Louis and he’s a nice guy. He’s got plenty of charisma and it was a good meeting. I went into it with an open mind.
“Then, once he’d offered me the assistant manager’s job, I was already thinking about retiring but it just felt right.”
