Wayne Rooney has expressed his desire to bring former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United, Daily Mail reports.
Samsung’s football advertising campaign ‘Galaxy Team’– which also includes Lionel Messi, Radamel Falcao, and Stephan El Shaarawy – gave Rooney the chance to participate in an online Q&A on Wednesday.
And a fan asked: “If you could bring any player from the Galaxy team to Manchester United, which player would it be?” In which Rooney replied, “Probably Cristiano!”
The striker went on to add more praise for the Real Madrid stuperstar when Rooney was prompted with who he thinks is the “best player in the world.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo and probably Luis Suarez a close second,” said Rooney.
He also commended retired Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as the other best player he had the honour to play alongside.
Unable to fully separate the two, he said: “The best player I’ve ever played with is between two – Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes. Scholesy controlled the game and passed the ball around but in terms of winning games – Cristiano Ronaldo.
Additionally the 28-year-old also regarded his overhead kick against Manchester City and his goal against Holland as his favourite strikes.
