Mesut Ozil has struggled to perform for Arsenal recently, particularly in big matches, but Arsene Wenger has dropped a major hint that the World Cup winner will not be dropped this evening.

The Gunners face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in a crucial Champions League Round of 16 battle, with Wenger's side looking to end a run of six consecutive exits at this stage of the competition- two of which have been handed to them by the Bavarian side.

Given Ozil's struggles recently, there had been suggestions that the German would not start against Carlo Ancelotti's side but Wenger, whilst refusing to confirm he will start, dropped a major hint towards his team selection. Quoted by ESPN, the French boss said:

"It's not the best moment to give you the team. I will pick the team tomorrow morning. But we play in Germany and you will see that Ozil is highly focused to have a good performance tomorrow."

Stating that Ozil is 'highly-focused' suggests that the German will start from the off against Bayern, which may be seen as a risk due to the low performance levels of the Gunners most-expensive signing.

A poor performance could also have drastic consequences for the remainder of Arsenal's season too, as Ozil remains a crucial player for the Gunners and a further drop in confidence could hand them with a real issue.
