West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that finding a goalscorer will be his main aim for the summer at Upton Park, as reported by the Evening Standard.

The Hammers have struggled this season and have lost three in a row going into today’s clash at West Brom, where a point could ensure their safety.

Supporters turned on their manager last weekend during their home defeat to Crystal Palace, not the first time the fans in East London have showed their displeasure towards Allardyce.

The former Newcastle and Bolton boss is not fazed though and is looking to add an exciting striker to his squad in the summer.

“We do need to evolve as a club and a squad. Every club needs to keep improving and we’re no exception. We need to change — but not too much,” Allardyce wrote in his column.

“Last weekend, for example, I mentioned that one of our priorities is another striker who would give us something different.

“Now I’m not suggesting we’re going to find another Luis Suarez — although we’ll be trying — but we are certainly seeking someone of that type.

“The last three defeats have meant that we cannot yet press the button on improving the squad this summer.”
