West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that he would like to see Liverpool win the league on the final day of the season, as reported by London24.

The Hammers travel to Manchester City tomorrow and a win for the East Enders could give the title to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

City only need a point against inconsistent West Ham to ensure Manuel Pellegrini has a maiden Premier League trophy in his first season.

Allardyce wants to win the game first and foremost but would like to see Liverpool and Steven Gerrard win the league.

“From a neutral point of view, everybody would like to see Liverpool win it,” he said.

“From a personal point of view I’d like to see Steven Gerrard win it.

“It’s the last thing for him which he hasn’t quite achieved at Liverpool. He’s been a one-club man all his life.

“Obviously they’ve let it slip out of their hands. They had it to take, but they’ve now left it in the hands of Manchester City.

“On form and the position they’re in, you’d have to say Manchester City are the favourites.

“We can go out and give everything we’ve got on the basis that they know we’re in the Premier League next year. Let’s try and spoil Manchester City’s party.”
