West Ham United have completed the loan signing of Emmanuel Emenike from Fenerbahce until at least the end of the current campaign, Sky Sports reports.

The 28-year-old spent the previous season on loan with Abu Dhabi-based club Al-Ain, scoring nine goals from a total of 15 appearances.

Emenike also revealed his delight at the opportunity to work with Hammers boss Slaven Bilic given that they followed each other’s career in the past.

"I'm very, very happy and very, very excited that I'm here," he told West Ham TV.

"I have always known West Ham as a great club. I've always been watching them. West Ham's a great club and I'm happy to be here.

"I've known him [Bilic] for years. When he was at Lokomotiv Moscow, I was at Spartak Moscow, then he came to Besiktas and I was in Fenerbahce, so we've known each other for a long time. I'm happy to be here and happy to play for him.

"We've followed each other's careers and thank God we are here today and we are here together."

Emenike enjoyed previous spells in Russia and Turkey when Bilic was managing other teams, and the striker will now be working under the Croatian.

The Nigeria international is now set to join fellow countryman Victor Moses at the club as the Hammers, who are sixth on the league table, look to continue their impressive form.

West Ham were keen to add another forward into their ranks following the recent sale of Mauro Zarate and injuries to Andy Carroll as well as Diafra Sakho.

Emenike featured 55 times for the Turkish giants ahead of his loan switch while managing to score a total of 16 goals in the process.
