West Ham produced a stunning second half comeback to beat Chelsea at Upton Park and leave Rafael Benitez still searching for his first win as Blues interim boss.

The Hammers scored three times after the break to maintain their fine home record after a double half time change from manager Sam Allardyce proved to be the catalyst for victory.

Opposite number Benitez has now taken just two points from three games in charge since replacing Roberto Di Matteo and cut a disconsolate figure in the away dugout at the final whistle after watching his side capitulate in the last 10 minutes.

He was once again the subject of much derision from Blues travelling support but they were quickly hushed as the visitors took control of the game and finally broke their goalscoring duck under the Spaniard after 13 minutes.

It was apt that two of his fellow countryman played major roles with Fernando Torres latching onto an inch perfect pass from Victor Moses down the right and squaring for Juan Mata to stroke the ball home from just inside the penalty area.

Torres, Moses and Mata all missed chances to extend the lead before Kevin Nolan had a goal ruled out for the hosts after a push by James Collins on Branislav Ivanovic was spotted by referee Martin Atkinson.

Atkinson then attracted the ire of the home supporters after deciding only to show Petr Cech a yellow card for punching the ball outside the area, with the Chelsea keeper denying Nolan seconds later with a brilliant diving save

The introduction of Mohamed Diame and Matt Taylor at the break swung the game in West Ham's favour and they forced an equaliser in the 63rd minute, Carlton Cole beating Ivanovic in the air to head Matt Jarvis' cross past Cech.

Mata struck the post with a delicious free kick soon after but the tide had already turned and five minutes from time Diame powered the ball home from the edge of the area, before substitute Modibo Maiga scored a third to wrap up the win to extend Chelsea's winless run to seven games.
