Ryo Miyaichi has returned to training for Wigan and could be available for this weekend's Liverpool fixture.

The winger suffered a slight injury to his groin while playing internationally for Japan last month and Wigan have not had the ability to pick him since their game at Swansea.

However, Miyaichi is now back to full training again, though Roberto Martinez seems to have not yet made a decision as to whether the winger will accompany the team to Anfield.

Roberto Martinez said: "We'll need to see how he responds to the work this week as the intensity of his preparations go up a level before we decide whether he can make the trip to Liverpool or not, but it's great news that he's back in training with the squad. The injury was a big blow to him after a bright start to the season, but he remained positive throughout his recovery and is very close to 100% again, which is great news for the team."

Miyaichi has made himself have patience with his recovery despite his desperation to return to the side. However, he wants to try his best to make a comeback.

He said: "It's been a tough few weeks and I've been desperate to get involved on the pitch and in training but have had to remain patient. Now that I can step up my training I want to do everything I can to get back into the team and back appearing on the pitch."
