Manchester United are desperately holding on to their chances of signing Angel di Maria after Zlatan Ibrahimovic questioned the necessity for his club Paris Saint-Germain to purchase the winger, Express reports.
PSG and Real Madrid have reportedly agreed on a fee for Di Maria to make the switch to the Ligue-1 champions, but star striker Ibrahimovic isn’t delighted with the Argentine’s possible move.
He was quoted by Spanish publication AS: “I do not know if we need Di María.
“We have a team that in recent months has added many titles without him.”
Man United have been heavily linked with Di Maria this summer, but had their hopes dashed after BeIN Sport reported that an £8million loan deal has been struck to bring the 26-year-old to the Parc des Princes.
The French outfit chose a loan move to avoid being hit with Financial Fair Play restrictions, but could still offload one of their star names as a precaution.
Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, while Liverpool are keeping tabs on another Argentine winger in Ezequiel Lavezzi.
