Jack Wilshere's latest ankle injury will see him out of action for around three months.

The England international had an operation on it yesterday after he fell awkwardly on it during Arsenal's 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

And the newspapers have gone to town on Wilshere's injury record, highlighting the fact Wilshere will have been sidelined for a huge total of 115 weeks through his career by the time he eventually returns from his latest setback.

One journalist in particular, Richard Innes of the Daily Mirror, went as far as claiming Wilshere has the 'world's most brittle ankles.' Such a statement angered the midfielder so much he felt it neccessary to respond to Innes with an angry post on his Instagram, where he posts a horrible picture of the tackle that led to his injury - his ankle clearly bent in an eye-watering and unnatural direction.

Having seen the image, you have to wonder whether Wilshere has a point here...
