With the World Cup Quarter Final entering its dying moments, most expected Netherlands and future Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to throw on another attacker for one final onslaught.

Enter...Tim Krul.

The Newcastle United 'stopper was remarkably substituted on for Jasper Cillessen in the final minute, despite the Ajax goalkeeper's vital save in extra time. With a record of two penalty saves from twenty in the Premier League, many were bemused by van Gaal's decision.

However, the 62 year old was vindicated when Krul made two saves to hand the Dutch the victory.

Fans on Twitter were quick to praise van Gaal for this remarkably brave decision.

Krul's team-mates at St James' Park were quick to congratulate the 26 year old.

The Netherlands will now play Argentina on Wednesday for a spot in the World Cup Final.
