It's clear Manchester United won't relinquish the defence of the FA Cup trophy without a significant fight after a spirited 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday.

Having to come from a goal down for the victory, United showed again they are unstoppable in knockout football this season as they fight on four fronts for glory in Jose Mourinho's first term as Old Trafford boss.

Blackburn Rovers gave it a good go and when Danny Graham gave them the lead in the first half, it looked like we may have a big cup upset on our hands.

In the end United's professionalism, quality and depth shone through with Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming off the bench to score the big winner.

These are the FIVE lessons we took from that match...

Rashford can be relied upon

Despite being just 19 years of age, Marcus Rashford has shown at times this season that when given responsibility, he can be relied upon to deliver.

At 1-0 down, the pressure was on the youngster to put in a performance and by latching on to Mkhitaryan's pass and rounding the goalkeeper he certainly did that.

He's been key for United in the FA Cup so far with Mourinho allowing him to play through the middle as a striker. More effective that out wide, he's proven himself to be a very competent alternative to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Blackburn surely aren't going down

Owen Coyle's Blackburn are in a very perilous position at the bottom of the Championship, three points from safety and in real danger of dropping down to League One. Give their performance against one of the best sides in the country, Sunday's match left us scratching our head about why they are where they are.

Surely if they can compete to the level they did against the Red Devils they won't go down?

Coyle must be hoping they can transfer that level of performance to their next fixture against Burton Albion this coming Friday.

Zlatan is always the saviour

No matter how bad things are going for United, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is always liable to pop up and play a starring role. That was certainly the case against Blackburn when he came on with 29 minutes remaining and the game evenly poised at 1-1.

He combined superbly with fellow substitute Paul Pogba to punish the Championship side and sent the away supporters wild with delight.

It was his 24th goal of the season, an incredible return.

Marcos Rojo still needs work

The way Marvin Emnes bullied Marcos Rojo in the lead up to Blackburn Rovers' opener will cause Man United fans concern. Rojo couldn't deal with the strength or trickery of the on-loan Swansea man, showing that perhaps Mourinho's defensive woes are not over this season after all.

Rojo has been a fairly consistent performer but moments like this mean question marks remain about his ability to lead the United defence going forward.

United are amongst the favourites to lift the trophy

Manchester United must be considered amongst the favourite's to lift the trophy after another determined and spirited win. The Red Devils are now undefeated in 10 games in the tournament, unstoppable in this season and last.

Despite having to travel to Stamford Bridge in the next round, United fans must fancy picking up the trophy for the second year in a row. Major honours in Mourinho's first season would be a massive step forward and give them the platform to make a serious title bid next year.
