Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday with an impressive win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Winning the match 3-0, Spurs will now face another fellow London team, making the trip to Millwall to play for a semi-final place. Mauricio Pochettino's side never really looked like losing and a superb hat-trick from Harry Kane provided the victory.

Despite having a pretty good season in the Championship, Fulham struggled to assert themselves on the fixture and will be disappointed they couldn't at least test Spurs in front of their own supporters.

Tottenham fans won't care much about that though as their team bounced back from defeat in the Europa League on Thursday and can now count themselves amongst the favourites to lift the famous trophy.

These are the FIVE lessons we can take from the game...

Pochettino is taking the FA Cup seriously

Naming a much stronger eleven than against Wycombe Wanderers in the last round, it's clear that Mauricio Pochettino is taking the FA Cup seriously. The bigger teams in England have gained a reputation in recent years for not giving the prestigious tournament the respect it deserves but the Argentinian manager proved that it's very much a priority for Spurs this season.

Despite being in the middle of a busy period, the Tottenham boss didn't rest top players like Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen and they all played their role in the victory.

Had he named a rotated side, who knows how the game might have ended up?

The team is built around Harry Kane

It was never clearer that Harry Kane is the focal point of the entire Spurs team than on Sunday. The players that support him from attacking midfield game know his style of play and positional tendencies and are able to capitalise on that with confidence.

The system Pochettino deploys is built around the English striker and when he's in the finishing form he has been recently, that's a tactical decision that can be absolutely devastating to the opposition.

Fulham aren't quite ready for the Premier League

Despite boasting a number of talented players and having a decent season in the Championship, it's clear that Fulham aren't quite ready to compete at Premier League level.

Of course, Spurs beat most teams in the top-flight on a regular basis but at times in the match Fulham barely looked competitive, letting Spurs regain possession far too easily and being unable to press Pochettino's side effectively.

Still a work in progress, that makings are at Craven Cottage for them to have a big promotion push next season but Sunday showed that there's still a lot of work to do for them to meet their ambitions.

Spurs could now go on a winning run

After three tough matches away from home, which they lost two of, Spurs are now in a great position to string together another run of results.

They now have three matches ahead at White Hart Lane against Gent in the Europa League and Premier League fixtures against the duo of Stoke City and Everton.

After two defeats on the bounce, getting back to winning ways on Sunday was crucial to their ambitions this season and so they didn't return to their own supporters with pressure on their back.

This could be their year

Spurs haven't won the FA Cup since 1991 but this could be their year. After going so close to being knocked out by League Two side Wycombe Wanderers in the last round, they now have the spirit and belief that they can make a famous trip to Wembley and achieve major honours.

The next tie is another tricky, but winnable, one as they travel away to Millwall to try and book a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
