premierleagueballWith the dust now settling on the January transfer window and only 13 games left to play of the Barclays Premier League season, now seems as good a time as ever to take stock of things so far.

As we head at a canter towards springtime, now’s the time of year in which those plying their trade in English football begin to cast one eye towards the Player of the Year ballot papers. And here at Football FanCast, we’ve decided to get in on the act, and give those who seem a little undecided on the potential candidates, a little helping hand.

The chances are, unless you’re serving a three-match ban for spitting or currently sucking your food through a straw following a mid-week tussle outside a kebab house, you’re not likely to be a Premier League footballer flicking through our gallery. But don’t let that stop you checking out our team of the year so far.

Set out in a trendy 4-3-3 like formation, we’re not entirely sure whether this would give a La Liga XI a run for it’s money, but like a slightly less refined Fabio Capello, we picked our players on form – not reputation.
