As reported by The Telegraph, Kieran Tierney is the latest Celtic player linked with a move to the English Premier League this summer. Arsenal are the club said to be interested, scouting him regularly this season as part of plans to overhaul the squad at the Emirates Stadium.

Tierney has been in terrific form this season so it's no surprise that big teams are hovering around him looking to see what the fuss is all about. Making 31 appearances, despite a three-month injury lay-off, it's clear he's a big part of Brendan Rodgers' plans in Glasgow.

However a move to a club like Arsenal could prove tempting, even though he is a die hard Celtic fan. Every footballer yearns to test themselves at the highest level and given the Gunners are regularly at the top end of the English Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League, they'd certainly give him that chance.

Here are THREE reasons why Tierney could be the perfect fit at Arsenal...

Trusted by a first class manager

The concern of English football fans when their club is linked with players in Scotland is that they are not playing at a high enough level to truly be able to judge whether they can make the step down south.

However, Brendan Rodgers is well placed to judge his ability having worked with some of the best players around at Liverpool like Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.

Rodgers trusts Tierney to compete at the highest level and was left impressed with his young left-back after he competed wonderfully against Manchester City earlier this season.

As quoted by The Express, Rodgers said:

"What I love about Kieran is his ability to learn. He is an aggressive full-back, firstly in defending and getting tight to people. Raheem [Sterling] was the ultimate test for him and he came through it really well. Raheem played well, but Kieran will come out of that game with big confidence at that level."

That should give Arsenal fans confidence that the 19-year-old can make the step up to life at the Emirates Stadium.

Fits Arsenal's attacking style

A tough tackler who can defend his area of the pitch expertly, it's when Kieran Tierney stretches his legs and advances into the opposition half that he truly shines.

He has eight assists for Celtic already this season, the third highest amount at the club ahead of attacking talent like Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

His ability to combine with teammates in the final third is a big part of why he is such a fan favourite at the club. He has the physical attributes and energy levels to cover his left flank from back to front and back again.

At the end of the every game he looks knackered, always giving everything to his performances and leaving no regrets out on the pitch.

If he moved to Arsenal and didn't make the grade, he would never be accused of not having worked hard enough to make it happen. Surely that's all any supporter can ask for, especially in the modern game.

At 19, already showing Champions League potential

As noted, Kieran Tierney performed expertly when coming up against Manchester City earlier in the season and generally has competed well for Celtic in the UEFA Champions League this term. At just 19, he's already made 13 European appearances during his time at the club.

Competing at that level is a learning process and even at more senior ages, if you haven't played at those heights you can look inexperienced and get caught out.

Tierney going through that learning process at Celtic should be very attractive to Arsenal; he can make his mistakes in Glasgow and polish his performances up before moving to a more competitive side.

He's not the finished product but he's halfway there and completing his education in north London under the guidance of Arsene Wenger could unlock a limitless potential.
