Ashley Cole attacks The FA in Twitter outburst
Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole has launched an astonishing attack on The FA via his Twitter account.
The 31-year-old gave evidence in defence of team mate John Terry in July and reiterated his support during the FA disciplinary hearing last week.
But it appeared to fall on deaf ears as the Chelsea captain was fined £200,000 and banned for four games.
It is thought that the tweet is in response to The FA’s decision to ignore Cole’s testimony and punish Terry regardless and could have serious consequences for his international career.
In a week that saw England boss Roy Hodgson overheard on the tube saying it was the “end of the road” for Rio Ferdinand’s international career, this latest twist will only throw the national side into more turmoil, only one week before they continue their quest for World Cup qualification against San Marino.
