In just six months’ time, some of the globe’s best players will come together for the World Cup in Brazil. England have been placed in Group D, where they will challenge Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica, in an attempt to reach the knockout stages of the competition. With the weight of the nation’s hopes and dreams on their shoulders, 23 men will be handpicked by Roy Hodgson to go out and try and lift the prestigious gold trophy.
While Hodgson will be happy with the players at his disposal, he may wish that one or two of his opponents were English, and available for selection. So what would it look like if you took the best players from all four teams to make an ultimate XI?
