Now that England have officially been eliminated from the World Cup in Brazil, it’s time for them to start looking towards their next big tournament – Euro 2016.

All eyes will be on the England  manager Roy Hodgson and his staff to put together a squad capable of performing better than they did in their three games over the last two weeks.

Former England centre-back Rio Ferdinand said in a recent interview that the most important thing is going further in the tournament, but added that the future looks bright for England going forward.

Ferdinand, speaking to promote the launch of EA SPORTS UFC said: “I’d like us to get further in the tournament, I think that’s important.

“Everyone is crying out in this country for us to go further in the tournament and we need to find a way to do that and that’s with the FA on down to the manager and staff to put that in place and I think we can use the experience of this tournament to do that.

“If we take it and use it going forward, then you’ve got a chance. I think if we take everything from it, the good and the bad, then I think it will be worthwhile.”
