Former Sweden Captain Henrik Larsson praised his fellow compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s display against England in last night’s friendly.

The game marked an exciting opening in the side’s new national stadium, the Friends Arena, as the Swedes managed to defeat England 4-2 with the 31 year old scoring all 4 of Sweden's goals.

Larsson insisted that Ibrahimovic produced a special display and that his last goal was one of the best of all time.

In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT he suggested that the stage was all set for the Paris Saint Germain striker last night, with it being the right team, at the right time.

On the goal Larsson commented:  “All other players have had to step aside yesterday, because it was his show”

He even was asked whether it compared to the sensation goal scored in 1988 by Marco Van Basten but insisted that this goal was greater.

“It was a tight angle but this finish was a better goal”

“I have never seen better, when he lined up for the bicycle kick I saw it straight away.”

He then emphasized that Ibrahimovic was an underrated player stating that the criticism he has received in England may have got to him saying:

“It hurt him a little bit and he tells himself that everything is possible, and he goes out with that determination every time he plays”
