Charlton head into Saturday’s game with Hartlepool United looking to equal the most tallied points in a single season in League One, matching the 101 point record currently held by Fulham.

Frustrated that they will not set their unique record after throwing away a two goal lead last weekend in the dying moments against Preston North End, Powell's men must now be prepared to put the party atmosphere aside for 90 minutes if they want to reach that prestigious feat.

It’s definitely party time in South London, as Charlton have the title well and truly sewn up and will be joining South London rivals Crystal Palace and Millwall in the championship next season. With a whole festivity lined up for Saturday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd it’s going to be a great game against a decent Hartlepool side.

Hartlepool travel down to South London on the back of a 2-1 victory over the East Londoners Leyton Orient last Saturday ,and there is no doubt they will hope to try and be the party poopers .Last season they came to the valley on the last game of the season and it was a very poor 0-0 draw.

I’m sure 27,000 will be hoping for a much better game this time round, although no doubt the northern team supported thoroughly by Sky Sports very own Jeff Stelling will want some revenge as well for the 4-0 thumping Charlton dealt Hartlepool earlier in the season.

I feel that this week Chris Powell must go for his strongest team lets go out with a bang, he tried some of the reserves last week and unfortunately it didn’t quite work out. I would love to see the Addicks end on a high after what has been such a great season for us

However no matter what team Chris Powell decides to choose I will believe they have what it takes to get the massive three points, to which the celebrations can go on long into the night.

With the trophy being presented to us after the game Charlton decided to reduce prices for the first couple of weeks for this fixture and even when the prices went back up, the title victory has certainly brought all the fans out for this party weekend.

So hopefully the lads can give the show which is why we are so far top of the league and hopefully pick up some more regular fans on the way. So come on Charlton, let the party begin!
