The big news coming out of White Hart Lane this week is that interim boss Tim Sherwood will stay on as head coach until 2015 after being offered an 18 month contract with the club. For a team looking to push for the Premier League title this year, stability is exactly what they need.

Sherwood bagged his first win against Southampton last weekend after a stunning performance from a resurgent Emmanuel Adebayor who scored twice. The sheer number of players available to Sherwood means Spurs will likely weather the Christmas period better than other teams; the depth of their squad is going to come into play. However they do have the worst home record in the top half of the table, with only three victories and seven goals in eight league games.

West Brom on the other hand have battled hard this season and find themselves in 16th spot, three points above the relegation zone. They have won only once away from home this year – but that was against Manchester United so a win against another big side in the PL is not out of the question. But how West Brom can win is another matter. Do they have the firepower? Probably not. A draw is as good as they can hope for but if Spurs continue to play with confidence it could be a humbling afternoon.

Adebayor is one of the most frustrating players out there but he is playing well at the moment. If Spurs stick with 4-4-2 then they can hopefully benefit from that Soldado/Adebayor partnership which looks like it could be developing nicely. In the midfield they have a wealth of options and their sheer depth of squad will be too much for West Brom.
