Aston Villa vs. West Ham United: An Alternative Preview

    Probable Lineups:

carrollAston Villa (4-5-1): Guzan, Lowton, Baker, Clark, Bertrand, El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph, Bacuna, Benteke, Weimann

Good news for Paul Lambert is the possible return of Gabriel Agbonlahor, which will greatly boost Villa’s attacking threat.  Ron Vlaar limped out of the clash against Everton allowing Baker a chance to impress in the starting lineup.  They sit relatively comfortable in mid-table, but they will look to avoid a slump that could drag them right back into the mix.

West Ham United (4-2-3-1): Adrián, Demel, Collins, Tomkins, McCartney, Taylor, Noble, Jarvis, Nolan, Downing, Boriello

The headlines have recently been hogged by the FA’s decision to deny Andy Carroll’s red card appeal, which would see the towering Englishman miss the next three games.  This would mean a possible start for winter signing Marco Boriello, who is yet to make an appearance for the Irons.

    What the fans are saying…
    Remember this?

A bit of classic nostalgia from the 2005-2006 season.

    Fantasy Football Danger Man

    benteke

Christian Benteke has been back amongst the points recently, with three goals and two assists in his last four games.  With his strength and composure, expect him to do one of either against a West Ham side that will be sitting deep.
