Southampton vs. Stoke: An Alternative Preview

    Probable Lineups:

stokeSouthampton (4-4-1-1): Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw, Lallana, Cork, Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Davis, Lambert

Southampton have been on good form this year, sitting comfortably away from the relegation zone and even with a chance of making it into Europe.  Their coming fixtures are also kind, so the Saints will look for maximum points and possibly mixing in with the big boys.  Rickie Lambert, recently back from injury, will lead the line with Steven Davis playing behind the English striker.

Stoke (4-2-3-1): Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, N’Zonzi, Whelan, Odemwingie, Adam, Walters, Crouch

Mark Hugh’s men will head to St. Mary’s in good spirits after inflicting an eight defeat to champions Manchester United at the Brittania last weekend.  They can also welcome back Steven N’Zonzi from injury, which will allow two-goal hero Charlie Adam to push further forward.  However Stoke’s away form has been dismal, managing only one win and two draws in twelve matches.

You could pick any of the Southampton scorers in their last game, but we will go with Jay Rodriguez to be amongst the points in this one.
